ALL ARE ONE

December 7, 2019

I chose to reactivate my writing with the beginning of the liturgical season of Advent. Advent is the beginning of Christianity’s New Year.  The traditional message of this season invites me to wait patiently for the presence of Christ to come into my world.  This New Year, I am praying that I become aware of the presence of Christ that is all around me, all the time.  As a Sister of St. Joseph, I believe that “All Are One” in God’s created reality.  The invitation for me this Advent is to pray for a heightened awareness that every moment of everyday, God is present in all of reality, my every day.  My challenge this Advent is not to compartmentalize my life into what is “of God” and what is “not of God.”  All is of God and I am in relationship with everything in God’s creation.  My prayer for Advent is to ask God for the grace that all my intentions, actions and everything that is around me be directed to the praise and service of God’s glory.  I share with you a familiar piece of Advent music, O Come O Come Emmanuel, to help you focus on what God is inviting you to in the days and weeks ahead.  Do not get ahead of grace.  Attend to Advent and the patient awareness of God’s presence in your everyday.
