THE 3, 5, 10 YEAR PLAN OF THE DIVINE LOVE
In the Eucharistic Letter, Medaille invites the first six women to see “The Little Design” as “wholly divine and [with an] invisible foundation… without a visible father, mother, founder, foundress, without a house of its own…stripped of everything.” “Stripped of everything” sounds like I am supposed to free fall constantly through my life. Free fall somehow connects with being vulnerable every step of my life. Maximum vulnerability at its roots demands courage, compassion and connection. I think of all the times I thought I was on my own, yet The Divine Love was and continues to be my greatest cheerleader. I have my dreams and aspirations that are unique unto myself. When I was younger, I looked around at my friends and they were choosing their unique pathways different from mine. My heart energy told me that my pathway was my own and it was totally okay.
For your reflection … Medaille’s “wholly divine invisibility” means that all of our unique gifts and talents are used by The Divine Love for a specific purpose and there is no one except are unique selves who can bring this specific love of God into the world. God uses my “I” to serve the “We.” Everyday each one of us is free falling through life with the Divine Love as our cheerleader and mentor. Our pathways unfold and we take steps with courage, compassion and connection. Fr. Medaille encouraged the women of Le Puy to “never get ahead of grace… but wait for the moment in peace and when it comes to you follow it with great gentleness and courage.” (Maxim 4) God is in charge and will get us where we are supposed to be. Yes, even a free fall has a 3,5,10 year plan. Enjoy the path.
